Few automakers have the legacy of excellence that Chevrolet does. For over a century, the bowtie brand has been producing stellar high-performance and high-luxury vehicles for American drivers. It’s difficult to pick the best Chevrolet models from over the years, but here are some of our personal favorites.
Chevrolet Corvair Monza
Chevy produced a variety of interesting muscle cars in the 1960s and 1970s, but the Corvair Monza is a unique entry among the group. It was the first American production car with a rear-mounted, turbocharged engine. Drawing comparisons to European performance models — but at a far cheaper price — the Corvair Monza kicked off the American sports car craze … and even inspired the Ford Mustang.
Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu
Emissions regulations in the mid-1970s put the squeeze on muscle cars, so the strapping Chevelle rebranded itself with the launch of the new Malibu top-line series. The rear-wheel-drive coupe became so popular that it became a bestseller for Chevy and replaced the Chevelle altogether.
Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
Current Chevy trucks are truly impressive, as evidenced by achievements like the Colorado ZR2. This recently launched off-roading version of the midsize truck isn’t the strongest in the lineup, but it’s lightweight, nimble, and brilliantly engineered — all things that off-roaders love.
These are just a few of the many great Chevrolet models that you could own as a collector. Want to add any of these pieces to your garage? Contact Show Cars of Boca Raton, and we’ll start the search for your dream car.
